Today is our 1st anniversary! YAY!!! I was actually planning to do something today, but apparently Hans had a surprise for me. =) If you know me though, you`d know that I don`t like surprises. I am too curious! So..a few days before the anniversary, I asked Hans if he had anything plan, and knowing me well enough he told me he had a surprise, & he wouldn`t tell me anything else except that it would be the day before the anniversary itself. =D So 2 days ago, he told me to pack because we`d go to Torshavn (an hour from where we live) and stay overnight there! WOO HOO!!!!
At 10 the next day, we woke up, and drove to Tórshavn. It was such a beautiful day. We were quite worried that it would be snowing again (it had been snowing for the past few days), but thank GOD it didn`t! The sun was shining, the sky was beautifully blue, and although it was 8 degree celcius, I was sweating! haha..Here are some pictures we took about halfway to Torshavn.
Pretty, eh? My heart soared when I saw this. God has blessed me beyond comprehension. I mean seriously! I have the most wonderful husband & I live in the most beautiful country. I SO don`t deserve all this, but God decided to bless me anyways. =)
Anyways, so we drove to Torshavn, & guess where Hans brought me??
It`s one of the best hotels in the Faroes! 4 stars!
See! I`m enjoying it! hehehe..That would be me checking the menu! =P Do you know what I like the most about this hotel? Check this out!
Grass roof!!!! and of course, I had to do this:
I climbed out the window & took a picture! There were people from the restaurant just upstairs looking at me!! hahahaha... (OK, fine..this is not a good picture of me, but who cares?? Just keeping it real, folks! =P). All the rooms in the hotel are facing the North Atlantic Ocean. Awesome, eh?
Oh! and of course there was a bathtub (we don`t have one at home! sad, I know!), and we had a nice long warm bubble bath!! and guess what Hans gave me??
A ring!! In Indonesia this would be a wedding ring. People don`t wear wedding ring sets (engagement ring & wedding band) on left ring finger in Indonesia. Instead, they wear only a wedding band on right ring finger. Anyways, so now I have my wedding rings set on my left ring finger, and this new ring on my right ring finger..hahaha..Hey, I`m in a cross cultural marriage, ok? =P
This picture was taken right outside the hotel. The hotel is situated high above the town of Torshavn, so at night it`s really pretty. It`s also quite a distance away from the center of Torshavn so it was perfect for us =) A quiet & romantic weekend getaway..hmmm!!!
These two pictures were taken later in the evening, about9 p.m!!. Yep, spring is here!!! Soon summer will be here, and the sun will never set!! YEAH!!! Can`t you tell I`m super excited? hehe..
Anyways, that evening we had a relaxing evening together. We went out to a restaurant for dinner (forgot to bring the camera, so no pictures. oh well!), came back to hotel to watch a movie on the in-room video service, and of course, slept well. The bed was so freaking comfortable. The duvet was fluffy & inviting. I even checked the brand of the duvet and took note to buy the same one for our bed. =P
