Hans and Shinta
There's a street here called Jónas Broncksgøta. Doesn't that name sound a little bit familiar? Jonas Bronck! That name really tickles my curiousity! I know I've heard it somewhere before...just can't remember what it was. Isn't that annoying!
Anyways, I googled his name, and found out that he was a Swedish sea-captain working for the Dutch who later settled in an area know named after him - The Bronx! (Ah..that's how I heard about him before!)...but then, why do they have a street named after him here in the Faroe? Ain't that interesting?

So, after an extensive research, I figured out that Jonas Bronck was brought up in Tórshavn, Faroe Islands. His father was a Lutheran pastor there. Jonas Bronck spent his youth in the the Faroe, and later became a sea captain in Holand, bought a ship, sailed to North America, and became the first recorded European settler in Rananchqua that we now know as The Bronx! Who would have guessed, eh?
